David Brown is a serial entrepreneur, having started and operated several companies, both US-based and in the international market. He is a seasoned corporate executive with extensive international connections. His experience includes the startup and operation of several UK/EMEA companies on behalf of US enterprise networking and internet-related firms. He enjoys technology, travel, culture and of course, business. He particularly enjoys mentoring startups and early-stage companies to help them grow and succeed.
David continues to travel regularly to the UK and Europe and enjoys using his extensive travel experience to assist clients with their trip planning, especially around Europe. He is a Director of the Foynes Flying Boat and Maritime Museum in Foynes, Co Limerick, Ireland, and also serves as advisor for the IBG Group, a UK-based investment group in the construction industry.
Systems, for whom they were the first representative in the region, and Network General Corporation, with whom they eventually merged. They remained at Network General to eventually take over the responsibility for Europe, Middle East & Africa, where they built and managed an EMEA operation that exceeded all expectations and helped put Network General in the category of world class company.
They went on to start the EMEA operations for J2 Communications (now owned by Microsoft) and cybersecurity firm Network ICE, creators of the BlackICE firewall, now owned by IBM. Since that time they have had various consulting assignments, including work done in support of Fidelity Ventures, helping companies expand in both the US and in the European markets.
Their personal interests include culture, wellness and travel, which they continue to write about their on their website, The Savvy Traveler, dating back to the mid 1990’s. Recently they finally realized a long term goal of turning their passion for travel into their business. Today they are using the knowledge learned from their own extensive travel experience as Travel Advisors, assisting clients in planing journeys that will create memories of a lifetime.
